Conversations with Fakhrul Razi

Even though the ‘MY’ of motivationMY stands for Malaysia but we pretty much have a small following around the region as well.

Fakhrul Razi is one of them. The Brunei-based singer-songwriter has been supporting our work since last year. In reciprocal, we’re a fan of his soulful music as well.

When he says he is not doing it for the G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, he really walks the talk. Here’s why: Unlike Malaysia, the Brunei music scene is not as glitzy as our music industry. In that case, we have people like Fakhrul Razi really doing it for the passion and writing lyrics as a way to express his inner feelings.

While being active in the music scene, Fakhrul Razi is also a TV host for the morning show Rampai Pagi at Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) and also currently a Radio announcer at Kristal Fm, an independent radio station in Brunei. He is also one of the most sought-after emcees for exclusive events in Brunei Darussalam.

Here are some his achievements:

Radio Televisyen Brunei’s Pilihan-Akira Talentime 2004 Radio Televisyen Brunei’s Song Composing Competition 2009

Pelangi FM’s Anugerah Pelangi Best Male Vocalist 2008/2009

AVIMA (Asia Pacific Voice Independent Music Awards) 2010 for Best Male Pop Vocalist and Best Acoustic Song.

Fakhrul Razi recently collaborated with US-based Andy Suzuki and The Method to record again his latest single “Salahkah Aku” which is a must-listen for all you love birds out there!

Fakhrul Razi is a very friendly personality, so tweet to him at @FakhrulRaz1, check out his Facebook page. If you can’t get enough of his music, he has a YouTube page as well.
