I’m not sure which political leader in Malaysia was the first to mention the term ‘Winnable Candidate’ Anyway I took the opportunity to ask Rafizi if he is up to the challenge to proof to all Malaysians, if he is a winnable candidate? His immediate response was, why not? He was grilled for half an hour on various issues. Tough questions were posed to him on how he would deal with various key concerns effecting this country. This interview also gives an opportunity to all inspire.fm listeners a glimpse of Rafizi’s life and why he gave-up a good corporate life for a life in politics.

Mohd. Rafizi Ramli is the Strategic Director for Parti Keadilan Rakyat. Rafizi was born in 1977 to a hardworking, simple and God fearing family in Kemaman, Terengganu. To ensure the well-being of the family, Rafizi’s father did many odd jobs such as carpentry, worked as a general contractor,etc. The hardships and struggles of his childhood did not deter nor discourage the young Rafizi to pursue an excellence in education. He obtained his early schooling at SR Sultan Ismail, Kemaman, Terengganu and later pursued his secondary education at the prestigious Malay College Kuala Kangsar or in short MCKK. After completing secondary education, Rafizi went to Scotland to complete his Pre-University and a Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the University of Leeds. Rafizi stayed on in London for a another three and a half years to work and qualify as a Chartered Accountant(CA). Rafizi has a total of 11 years of top class corporate experience before moving into politics full-time. His personal interest is in history and dedicates some of his valuable time from his busy schedule to coaching the MCKK hockey & debate teams.
