Christopher Tock is the founder of SocialGrooves.com, a social media consultancy that aims to generate business through creating trends via influencers and online-to-onground action. He has worked with a number of celebrities, non-profits and both community and commercial organizations in its one year since inception.
As Director of IT & Communications for the UK and Eire Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC) from 2005 to 2007, Technology Manager at RandomAlphabets & Wago and co-founder of both Young Corporate Malaysians & the Student Engagement Centre, he has seen through both traditional & radical efforts utilizing social media to build many types of communities with different target segments.
Two years working in an investment bank then helped him understand the processes and business decisions needed to begin his own start-up. These efforts combined eventually became valuable experience which he in turn use to consult organisations, non-profit and commercial, on their social media strategies and campaigns under what we now know as SocialGrooves.com, all this at a tender age of 26.
It is also worth mentioning that he co-owns another social enterprise start-up called Empowering Youth Endeavors (EYE) Project Management Sdn Bhd that aims to raise marketability of local graduates by matching the right talents to the right company.
Apart from that, Christopher is also part of the Social Media Club KL as well as the Social Media Chambers that was recently formed during the Malaysian Social Media Week in 2012. He currently blogs about events and initiatives he is involved in at www.spinzer.us since 2003, tweets just about everything at @spinzer and exist in most other social media platforms you can think of.
