Change is good?

Until a while ago I would’ve said that this is debatable and that in most situations change is not a good thing. It’s much easier not to change anything and just go on in life the way I used to for the past couple of years, right? However, change is inevitable, so I decided I might as well see at the positive aspects.

At the moment, I’m undergoing my most significant change in my life so far. I just started college and I am already feeling the pressure of assignments and homework. On top of that, we’ve got university visits from all over the world – while I have no idea what I should do in future. I’ve got to apply within a year and I’m done with secondary school in less than two years. It’s scary! When I was younger I used to dream of the day I’d finish school; now I want to stay in school for the rest of my life.

I’m guessing that this is not the last major change I will undergo. I’m sure that working, living alone or getting married are big changes too. So you see, it really is inevitable…unless you live under a rock.

After the initial shock I decided that I’ve got to change the way I feel about change. After all, it is the one thing that brings one forward in life. The world is ever-changing. It opens new doors and opportunities and it spices up your life. A whole life of school would get boring eventually I guess. Plus, it allows you to learn and experience new things. After school I’ll enter a whole new era and I am sure I will meet some new awesome people, learn things I didn’t know existed before and

However much I try to accept change, it seems weird to be treated like an adult and that everyone expects for me to be completely independent and understand the adult world. It’s a complicated world in my opinion. Since writing my blog my objective in life has been to change the world and make it a better place. You see, I believe in change and it being a good thing, but if I get intimidated by it on such a small scale it will need a lot more people to change the world.

This is why I think that change is a good thing. Everyone should make a change in some way. Either change a part of themselves – eat healthier, be more positive, more eco-friendly – and it will eventually change the world. What I think is that we are too scared to change, even the small things, but I understand. Because I know that it can be a scary thing, but more than that it is one of the best things that can happen to you.

I have begun to trust change and to trust life and the path it has for me. Once I understood that everything happens for a reason and that eventually I will recognise these reasons, I was able to calm down. I believe that I am on the right track and that in the end, I’ll be where I need to be. As long as I keep trusting and allowing change, nothing can go wrong.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.
