Why It Is So Hard To Change?
Have you ever set a New Year’s Resolution, only to find that after a while, you didn’t stick
to it? Or have you ever attended a workshop or a seminar you found really uplifting, only to be pumped for a few days and go back to the same way of life you were living before? Could it be that it is hard for us to change?
My opinion on this is no, it isn’t hard to change. It is just that many people go back to their old ways of being out of habit. In a physiological sense, these ways of being that we have formed around money, health and relationships consist of having neural pathways that have been strengthened and reinforced by years of practice. But actually, changing is easier than many of us are led to believe.
There are several ways we can begin highlighting the unconscious tendency many of us have to revert back to our old habits. For example, have you ever attended a class on financial management and were given great techniques to use, only to use them for a few days and then forget about it?
