Have you ever been in a situation in which you are fairly happy, and boom, comes an opportunity? But saying yes isn’t as easy as you thought it would be, because it might bring great change to your current situation?
Well, I sure have. Everything feels great, it feels like finally, life is going the way I want, and suddenly, I get an opportunity, which might potentially make life even greater! I feel like saying yes right away, but then I start thinking about it. This is the perfect time for my mind to drop off all kinds of ideas, which include ‘you can never do this’, ‘you don’t have time’ or ‘its too hard’ that part of the mind which simply loves questioning everything.
However, this is merely a natural mechanism. It is a way for you to protect yourself from the potential ‘harm’ caused by the opportunity, like less free time or decreasing possible risks involved. Sadly, it is also a way to reject beautiful opportunities that have such a high potential of making life amazing.
In truth, most opportunities you face will make life more fulfilling and bring new, worthy lessons. Though a lot of them are rejected because of that little inner voice saying no.
I believe that in order to live a fulfilling life, one must take risks. And taking opportunities means choosing to take a risk. Why a risk? Because you don’t know what it will bring. Although, whatever the outcome, it will always be positive in the end.
You will always learn something valuable from it, evolve, or meet new people which then play important roles in your life. You might even end up in hollywood.
The thing is, no one can know what an opportunity will bring, we can’t see the future. But by saying no, you will never know. By saying yes, a risk is taken, a new chapter is opened, and even more opportunities may come your way through saying yes to just one. It can be life changing, if you let it in that is.
So my advice – if you have an opportunity, any at all, big, small, work related or private. Think twice before you say no. Say yes to as many as you can, and if you find yourself to have no more time left, then let go of the ones you like the least. This way, opportunities may come and go, however, you take a taster of most of them.
That’s where the fun in life lies, that’s how we evolve and become greater and happier.
So take the next opportunity that comes your way.
Have a fun day,
